It is essential to systematically conserve the biodiversity in the mangrove ecosystem and manage well for the use of mankind. The management issues are categorised into : | (a)conservation of the ecosystem: - Afforestation(distinct conservation effort)
- Legislation(including laws and policies);
- Monitoring and Surveys (land and aerial, etc.);
- Protection(including conservation, parks and reserves development, etc.);
- Recommendations;
- Soil conservation;
- Status studies

- Natural products useful for medicinal purposes, drugs, etc.); Other products (timber, salt production, honey, etc.);
- Socio-economic aspects;
