| 1 | Significance of mangroves in fisheries Mangroves play a vital role in coastal fisheries production and management besides supporting brackishwater fisheries resources round the year. Mangroves serve as efficient nursery grounds for many marine fish stocks. They provide certain essential nutrients and minerals to the coastal ecosystem through the tidal process.
